McDonald is home to Station 12 boasting a membership of over 150, which include paramedics, EMTs, and top of the line equipment. McDonald Fire Department serves and protects the Borough of McDonald and Robinson Township, Washington County.

As part of the Fort Cherry Fire District, McDonald Fire Department provides mutual aid to Midway and Mt. Pleasant Township. All three fire departments respond to calls in their own town as well as each others giving manpower and equipment not usually available in a small town. In addition, McDonald Fire Department has a full-time paid fireman on duty Monday through Friday.

The firemen of Station 12 are involved in so many ways in the community but one event stands out from all the rest, McSummerfest. Summer in the Borough would not be complete without the Firemen’s weeklong celebration. One of the largest festivals in the area, McSummerfest draws tens of thousands of people each year with music, food, rides and of course the annual 4 th of July fire works display. More then just a fundraiser, McSummerfest has become a summer tradition.
